You sounded good and you have a pleasant speaking voice. The only criticism I have is you were just a little too close to the microphone. It wasn’t too bad, though – just barely noticeable. I’ve heard a lot worse where it sounded like the speaker was spitting on the mike… LOL.

Looking forward to your interview with Doug. He certainly is a brilliant marketer.

Excellent podcast. Very good content and your voice comes across very well (and confident). Keep up the good work!

Yo, Peggy…I liked several things about your first podcast. Your voice was soft and mellow, not harsh or grating. You tone was friendly and implied that you knew what you were doing…not like it was your first podcast. You didn’t sound nervous at all, but definitely confident.

I didn’t hear what Sally mentioned about you being a little too close to the mike. I liked the way you sounded calm and like you had a mission…not rambling like some I’ve listened to.

Nice job! Keep up the good work.

Peggy-this sounds great! I’m very picky about audio I hear on websites and blogs. Regarding Sally’s comments; I believe she’s referring to the very small amount of ‘wind’ or popping. You can barely pick it up. I’d say it might even be more the mic angle than closeness (depending on what you are using). If you move it away, I’d only do so a few millimeters.Your voice is great and the content is very good-length is perfect. Now, for me (and us): can you share what you used to put this in your blog? -R

Hi Sally – I tried to position the mike below my mouth because I’d heard if you talk across it you won’t have “wind”, but now that I think about it, I was looking down while I talked so I probably ended up puffing right into the microphone. Thanks for pointing it out!

Steve – Thanks bro! How’s the wedding photography business going?

Thanks, Pat. I went ahead and did it before I got too nervous. Taking action… that’s me. lol

Hi Renee – Thanks! My confidence in this is going up. I recorded it with Audacity and used this WP audio player plugin: http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/microaudio/installation
Alan Petersen of http://www.IMnirvana.com helped me (a lot).

    Thanks,
    Peggy

Hi Peggy, awesome first podcast! Congrats on getting that first one out there! Your voice is awesome. Very friendly and calming two great points for a podcast. :-)

With regards to the mic positioning since you’re using a headset you should position the mic up high on your face, just opposite from the bottom of your nose. It’s awkward as heck at first but it helps on the “getting too close” to the mic effect & nose/mouth breathing issues.

Thanks for the interview with Doug, I’m looking forward to listening to it!

That’s a true trait of every successful person – easy to see why you’re doing so well and will continue to move up quickly! Kudos & congrats!

Hi Doug – Thanks for all your help with this, and thanks for letting me interview you. You’ve been a good sport about it. I do like to take action! ;)

Hey Alan – Thanks for telling me how to do a podcast. I tell people to build relationships with other marketers. Why? So they can help you when you get stuck and you can return the favor when they need you. I’ve still got to do the RSS thing with it and submit it. I will do that, I promise.

    Thanks,
    Peggy

It’s always hard to get started with something like this but it certainly does get easier and easier (even addictive).

Great content and the quality was spot on.

  13. admin on July 27th, 2009 4:01 pm

Hey, thanks Karl! You’re right though, it is hard to get started but I’m sure like with everything else I’ve learned, it will get easier. Addictive? Who knows!
And nice to see you here again.

I can’t figure out how to get the audio into the post. Sometimes I should not mess with tech stuff.

Got something to say?
