Let the Games Begin!

Ack! The website is live and I should start blogging. I’m pretty safe though, as no one knows I’m here…yet. This is really a fake blog post because I don’t have a blog integrated into my website yet. I’m getting to that but I thought it was better to get something on this page just in case someone actually finds their way here.
Where do I start? That’s the big question that I’m trying to put my arms around. I was reading a post from Janet Beckers yesterday at http://wonderfulwebwomen.com and she says to look at:
1. Personal goals - Mine involve being successful, having my kids think I’m successful, and a trip to Hawaii to sip umbrella drinks. Janet says to keep these in mind so you can stay focused. If something comes along that’s not in-line with these goals, just say “no”.
2. List the skills you have or need to learn - I have many skills, but I am technically challenged. I need to know when it’s better to bang my head continuously against my computer screen while learning a task vs. parting with my hard-earned cash to pay someone else to do it in 5 minutes. Is it better to have time or money?
3. Know your own strengths and weaknesses - Go after what you do well and delegate what you don’t want to do. Don’t bother trying to “improve yourself” if it’s something you truly don’t like to do. I like to write and create, which I’m doing right at this moment, but I don’t like doing any of the office duties that go along with a business.
Okay, I’ve explored these 3 things, now what?

Hi Peggy,
Great to see you taking action and making yourself accountable to the world. I’m really looking forward to watching your progress. People say that “knowledge is power” but I don’t really agree with that. Sure, knowledge is important but the real truth is “action is power”. So congratulations, you’ve taken action and you’re on the path to success now.
Cheers
Janet Beckers
