Good Internet Marketing Advice Never Gets Old
February 10, 2009 · Print This Article
I’m feeling a little out of it because I just got back from a 5 day trip. Do you know what I mean? A little groggy and dissoriented with a lot of laundry to do?
On the plane ride home I was thinking about all the internet marketing advice I’ve heard since I’ve started online. Trips away from the computer are a good time to reflect about stuff. You have time for take-a-few-steps-back-from-the-trees-and-look-at-the-whole-forest kind of thinking.
Anyway, I was thinking about how some advice can grow old and outdated in internet marketing while other advice is timeless. I think the stuff that never grows old is on how to treat people/customers right. There is so much value in that kind of advice because not only does the welfare of your business depend on your customer service, but treating people right is just the right thing to do. Dan Kennedy calls it being pragmatic.
And not to get all Pollyanna on you, but when I make people happy and they can trust me, I sleep better at night.
Look After Your List is the first ebook I put together at the end of 2007. It’s about your relationship with your list and I think the 11 marketers who contributed their advice in the ebook were, and still are, spot on. If you haven’t read it you can get it free (with optin) here.
I think this ebook about maintaining a relationship with your list falls into the timeless advice category. What do you think? Comments are welcome!
I “do follow” you.

Great post. I have some clients that I will be sending here… they seem to have forgotten that ‘relationship marketing’ is a great way to build a brand and a trust-based relationship.
I’m also going to check out your ebook.
Thanks again.

Hello Karl,
Thanks for your comments, you’re right on. Plus, don’t you think building relationships while you market is much more fun? Or maybe I just think that because I’m home all day with my computer for company.
Thanks,
Peggy
P.S. Love your last blog post btw.
