I’m Feeling Like Giving Away Some Marketing Books
September 29, 2011
Howdy y’all. I’m feeling a little stressed about this affiliate challenge thing I’ve put on myself in order to learn, grow, help others learn and grow, and help us all make money. So I thought I’d do something fun…
I’m going to give away 3 copies of Connie Ragen Green’s book, Huge Profits With Affiliate Marketing, or her other book if you prefer: Huge Profits With A Tiny List.
It will be a random drawing and all you have to do to get your name in the hat is simply add to the conversation here. By that I mean post a comment that offers other marketers your tip, insight, or idea regarding something about affiliate marketing.
What have you had good luck with? What’s your advice? Your comment doesn’t have to be super long, just helpful for affiliate marketers.
Go ahead and leave your comment here, now. ![]()
And good luck on winning one of the copies of Connie’s book!

A Peek Inside My MyNAMS Membership
September 27, 2011
Oh crap, I’ve been so busy with the affiliate challenge I’ve got going that I forgot to tell you about the MyNAMS membership. I joined before it went live and I confess to not having spent a lot of time there… until today. I not only wrote a quick blog post about my expeience at the conference but I started watching some of the videos inside.
They’ve got the videos categorized and depending on what level you’re at, you can watch the very beginning videos at level 100 and go on up to 200, 300 and 400. I was watching one of them at the 300 level and learning more about the backend. Good stuff!
Let’s see…
* there’s a blog
* a forum
* accountability groups (if you want)
* a library
* webinar replays
* podcasts
* deep-dive sessions
One more thing I like - a niche a month! 25 articles, site, graphics, etc. so you can set up a new site each month. The one this month is on healthy drinks.
This is where I might have blown it by not telling you sooner: the deep discount of $9.70/month goes away at the end of September (as in 3 days from right now).
If you think the above is worth $9.70/month (90% off) then grab it. Of course, you can cancel at any time. Here’s my naked affiliate link:
http://mynams.com/amember/go.php?r=337&i=l9 Use the coupon code MYNAMS90 to get the special rate! If you don’t want to go through my link you don’t have to.
David Perdew, the head of NAMS is a wonderful man and cares enough to build this membership site up into something special. It’s not totally there yet as it’s so new, but content is constantly being added and it’s not filler BS, it’s the kind of info that will help me run my business better and increase my income.
Affiliate Marketing Challenge Plan of Action
September 23, 2011
It’s time for me to write out a tentative plan of action on the affiliate marketing challenge I’ve set for myself. I’ve entered Ronnie Nijmeh’s PLR.me 3 year anniversary celebration and my intention is to promote his wonderful products that I believe might really help people while earning affiliate commission and winning some cool prizes. This is my 3rd post about this affiliate marketing challenge (see post 1 and post 2) and I encourage you to give feedback and tips.
So here are the promotion methods that are open to me:
- email(s) to my PLR lists
- tweets
- Facebook wall post
- posts on my PLR blog
- video
- Q and A teleseminar or post
- Post some articles in the article section of the Warrior Forum (can’t use EZA because they don’t like the term PLR
) - ???
Here are further detailed options and this is where I need to flesh it out more, based on Connie Ragen Green’s book, Huge Profits With Affiliate Marketing:
emails – a promo email, a link to a written interview with Ronnie, a questions answered post, an informational post, another promo email, and ________________. This contest lasts until October 18th.
tweets – tweets at different times of the day and not all saying the same thing.
PLR blog - Two or three posts on that blog.
FB post - One will be when I “Like” my PLR blog post, then more that are spread out.
video – problem with my computer Realtek sound card vs. recent Skype update. Alan Petersen spent hours yesterday kindly trying to help me, poor guy. Looks like an issue with my computer.
I’d like to do a video walk through of his PLR store and hit on the benefits.
My homework (because I want to do this better than ever and there’s always something to learn):
1. Do all the above!
2. Re-read Nicole Dean’s first issue of IncomeCPR because it has case studies of what others did in one of her affiliate contests.
3. Re-read the section in Steve Scott’s Affiliate Marketing Without The BS about promotional emailing.
4. Mull over the advice Connie Green gave me in her teleseminar a few days ago, make some decisions, and take action.
5. Revisit my options for bonuses for buyers who go through my affiliate link and decide what the bonuses will be.
Here’s a neat thing… I got a coupon from Ronnie to give my list peeps that will give them 50% off all his PLR except the memberships. He’s also answering questions I gave him in a written interview so I can give this to my peeps. I made sure my questions were ones that are really helpful to know the answers to – questions I’ve had from customers. How did I get these 2 things from Ronnie? I emailed him and asked.
Many marketers will set you up with something special for your subscribers if you just ask. It’s a win-win-win. The affiliate benefits from making her subscribers happy with a good deal plus the affiliate makes sales, The product creator is happy because he makse sales, gets new people on his list and can get content to the people who want it. Lastly, the buyer is pleased with being able to snag a good offer.
- I’m just wondering, what affiliate contest prizes do you prefer? Cash, iTunes or Amazon gift cards, iPods, iPads, other gadgets, or coaching? Cash is my favorite, followed by private coaching (in this case anyway).
- Your thoughts, ideas, opinions, advice, tips?
Affiliate Marketing Challenge Considerations Before I Begin
September 16, 2011
Here I am at the beginning of my affiliate marketing challenge. See the previous post’s details for info.
While it makes me look good to post after the fact about something I tried and had success with, I thought I’d do it the other way around. I’m going to post my progress as I go and if I fall flat on my face, I’ll tell you that too. [fingers crossed that doesn't happen!] I’m sure this is going to be educational for me and hopefully it will for you too.
Before I could come up with a plan of action, I had to make some decisions. Here is what all I considered:
- What exactly should I promote?
The thing is, Ronnie Nijmeh has more than just his PLR.mestuff; he has other solid products he’s put out. It’s all part of his affiliate contest so I could promote all of it if I wanted. But that’s not this is about for me – I want to only promote one area, the area I think will help my most active list. That list is my PLR customers/subscribers.So the first thing I did was look over his products carefully and come up with the ones that could help my PLR-buying friends.Whew, whittled away one issue already.
- Should I offer bonuses for buying through my affiliate link?
Now there is one element of competition here and that involves whether affiliates are offering bonuses or not. I know one marketer who is not, but that marketer definitely has a much bigger list than I do and will most likely make some easy sales because they put the word out first and had a wider audience to promote to.I like the people on my PLR lists and I want to come us with a bonus (or two) that can be helpful to them. Yes, I should offer bonuses, but I haven’t decided on what. Now is the time to let loose with some of your ideas and methods!
NOTE - Have you seen how crazy some big-deal-marketers get with their bonuses? Crap, one guy gives away
all his products, products yet to be created, says he’ll promote you to his big list, and gives other promises he
doesn’t keep.
It makes me want to vomit!

- What tools does Ronnie provide for me?
I had a look inside the affiliate center and I was happy to see a ton of stuff. I need to go back in and be discerning with what I pick out. Of course I will also use my own emails, etc. I really like that he has brandable reports and I read through some of them. I think they’re helpful for anyone in the specific niche markets, not just PLR users. He now has an affiliate manager in charge so I know between the two of them, my questions and requests will get answered quickly.
- How should I get the word out? How do I get traffic?
Beats me! Just kidding, sort of, no really, I know, kind of. This is where I’m really going to use Connie Green’s book, Huge Profits With Affiliate Marketing, plus listen to what you, Steve Scott, and Susanne Myers have to say.
>> I have a fuzzy marketing plan going through my head, but I’ll save it for the next post.
NOTE - I am very protective of my friends; I will NOT pummel my list! I want to promote with integrity.
- So far, so good? Other considerations I’ve missed?
- This way of doing affiliate marketing is different than finding a niche, finding a product in that niche, and building a site around it. Which way do you prefer to do your affiliate marketing?
Challenging Myself With Affiliate Marketing
September 15, 2011
It’s pretty easy to challenge yourself when you secretly know you’re going to do well, but have you ever challenged yourself on something when you have no idea how it will turn out?
Have you ever done it publically so others can see you reach the summit… or not?
I present to you my personal affiliate marketing challenge.
The players: Me, myself, and I.
The accomplices: #1 -Connie Ragen Green’s book – Huge Profits With Affiliate Marketing which I picked up at NAMS6.
#2 - YOU, to give me helpful hints, tips, and ideas of what has worked for you.
#3 - I’m also hoping Steve Scott will poke his head over here now and then.
The product: Ronnie Nijmeh’s PLR.me 3 Year Celebration (and contest).
Why? I know Ronnie’s work is high quality and I have promoted one of his products before. I’ve followed him since before he got married and I respect him as a person and marketer. There are actually lots of his products here in the celebration so that allows me to promote only what I think will be good fits for my lists. These things are very important to me - a reputable marketer’s good products that my subscribers might really like and that can help them.
The other whys? Connie Green is an affiliate marketing machine and has won many affiliate contests; she and her book have inspired me.
Did I say there was a contest? Well, it’s not really a contest where people compete against each other, it’s like the one I hosted where affiliates just sell certain amounts to get prizes. I’m challenging myself to do this; I’m not trying to beat anyone. Thirdly, doing a big promotion is a little outside my comfort zone and I need to go there, now.
The plan: I don’t totally have it mapped out yet, but I’ve scribbled down some ideas and I’ll get them organized in some sort of order – better yet, a chronological order. Do this first, this next, and so on.
I am not new to earning through affiliate marketing, I’ve just never done what Steve Scott talks about and that is – GO LARGE.
- I’ll post a tentative plan tomorrow or the next day. Please chime in with your tips and strategies!
