Internet Marketing… When Something’s Gotta Give

May 19, 2011

It's happened again.

I get so wrapped up in trying to finish a big project I don't come up for air. I stop blogging, I stop reading and commenting on blogs, I stop tweeting, I turn off Skype, and I forgo writing long chatty emails. Forget about reading and learning.  I don't work on other projects and I don't even have time to outsource these other projects.

internet marketing loveIt's a love/hate thing.

I love creating new products and so does my bottom line. ;) When I'm finishing up something I know is good and will help people, I get a little excited and frenzied in my efforts to get it ready and pushed out the door. Too focused??

But I hate that I stop communicating with others. I feel disappointed that I've not been to some of my favorite blogs: Alex Whalley's, Steve Scott's, Robert Dempsey's, Pat Flynn's, JK Allen's, Paul Wolfe's, Adrienne Smith's and others I can't think of right now because my brain is frazzled.

It amazes me that I feel so isolated right now. After all, I still work at home, by myself, and that part hasn't changed. I guess blog commenting, tweeting, Skype, and chatty emails have become an important virtual water cooler for me.

But something's gotta give when I'm trying to finish up a project… there's only one ME and I've only got so much time in a day. At all other times I can juggle it pretty well, just not when I'm in Full Out Production Mode.

  • How do you do it? Keep up with everything at once? Do you have times where you totally shut down from the social (but still important) part of your business?
  • Is there such a thing as TOO focused? And is it harmful for your online business?

Having Your Own Product Reviewed is Like Walking On a Bed of Nails

May 9, 2011

I did a guest post over at Tiffany Dow's  blog, but before you  read it I'd like to set the stage so it wil make sense.

As you may or may not know, my most recent product: Become a PLR Writer and subsequent newsletter: Professional PLR Provider  came under close scrutiny by Tiff in one of her brutally honest, no stone unturned, look at it with a magnifying glass product reviews.

I simply asked her if she would promote my product… but she said she would only do a review of it for her readers because she liked to give them the whole story of the product (without giving them the actual product content) so they can make informed decisions to buy or not.

This was going to be like walking on a bed of nails for me. Did I have enough faith in my product to walk safely across? Or would I freak out and feel every nail pierce the tender skin on the bottom of my feet?

After 5 review section posts and a final review later, I made it to the other side.

My guest post is about what it's like to be on the other end of one of Tiff's reviews.

Please read my thoughts on Tiffany Dow's blog and leave a comment!
My guest post is here.
If you're interested - Her final review of the product is here.

Thanks! :)
