What Are You Doing Wrong With Your Emails?

November 20, 2007

The bonus report, Top 10 Email Mistakes, is ready.  If you want to see it, please go to my home page and sign up!  I think it’s pretty good information, with some interesting items I didn’t know before I started researching it.

This bonus report is actually part of the bigger picture.  My big 20-something page pdf report, called Look After Your List, should be ready to go the week after Thanksgiving.  It’s not done yet because  1) I had another internet marketer who wanted to jump aboard and  2)Thanksgiving week probably wouldn’t be a good time to put it out there.  The US folks will be busy stuffing the turkey, stuffing themselves, watching football, and hitting the malls - me included!

Anyway, at the end of the Look After Your List free report will be a link to a squeeze page for my bonus report (same one that’s on my home page.)  This will hopefully, increase my list.  That’s the plan anyway!  I’ll let you know how it goes.

I’m excited because I’ve already had several people offer to promote the Look After Your List report and I’m hoping it will go viral.

It’s all starting to come together…

Unable to Think of a Catchy Title

November 15, 2007

Okay, sorry about the whining in the last post.  I’m over it now.

My opt-in report just needs some fine tweeking, and then it will be ready to go!  However, my squeeze page still needs work.  So that’s what I’m doing today tomorrow.

I’m also going to put a new picture of me here (so you know who you’re talking to :)) as soon as it’s resized.  It’s too grainy if I just try to shrink it, so my brother, the photographer, is going to do it.

It’s also been recommended that I just give away the report so it will go viral, and put a bonus report offer in the end of the report to bring people back here to the website.  They could then opt-in for the bonus report.  I feel dense…. but I’m going to do it!

Next step - get the bonus report ready.  I’ve got a great idea and it’s half written - in chicken scratch from when I was driving today.  Just kidding, mostly I pulled over to the side of the road while I was writing. ;)  Since I have such short term memory issues, now that I’m getting old, I have to write down my ideas when I get them or they’re forever lost in the backyard of my mind.

I vow to stay away from emails, blogs, and forums tomorrow as I get things accomplished.  Now I’m off to my son’s 3 basketball games this evening.  He’s in a tournament that goes until after my bedtime.

Marketing Fear and Frustration

November 12, 2007

The Frustration
Not enough time in the day!  My kids were home because of the holiday today and that  threw me off.  I know I’m running the risk of sounding like a horrible mother, but I’m so close to getting my report done and I just want to work on it.  Oh, to have a big block of uninterrupted time!

This has been my day today:

Worked on IM stuff - finished up and submitted another article, posted on a few forums, worked on my squeeze page, asked for help on a PDF problem, helped someone else with their problem (yea, I got to help someone else!), etc.
Take son to work out.  Worked out myself while I was there.
Rushed home to take daughter to craft store for school project.
Quick shower.
Hustled out to walk dogs (my pet sitting business).
Came home and made bread (from scratch per kids request), played with my own dog, picked apples from our apple tree.
Ate lunch in front of the computer while I worked for 45 minutes.
Picked up daughter from working on school project at friend’s.
Took daughter to cheer practice.
Worked on IM stuff for 1.25 hours.
Picked up daughter.
Fixed early dinner for son.
Drove across town to take care of some cats.
Took son to basketball practice.
Fed me and daughter dinner (husband at dinner meeting)…

Can you relate?

The Fear:
To be honest, finishing my current project - the opt-in report.
I thought I needed one more piece of information, but upon really reading what I already have, I discovered that piece of information has been covered.  Now there’s nothing standing in my way of finishing it up and getting it out there.  So now, all systems are go and it’s a little scary!

Is My Sales Page Cookin?

November 9, 2007

I had a great 4 day weekend in York, PA,  Annapolis, MD,  and Baltimore’s inner harbour.  The wedding was beautiful, of course, and the weather couldn’t have been nicer - sweaters and sun.  Now I’m playing catch up with all the email while trying to get work done.  I guess if I want to be a world traveler someday, I’d better learn to carry a laptop so I can keep on top of the mail.

I took a little side route here and worked up a sales page for my Cookin’ Kids Newsletter.  It still needs a header and footer (and probably more work) but you can see it here: http://cookinkids.com/Newsletter.  Please feel free to critique it!  I had some help from a wonderful gentleman in the Netherlands, Leo Hanes, http://CreatingProfitsonLine.com, as well as Janet444 on the Warrior Forum.  What nice people!  I’ve also been learning a lot from Leo’s blog http://www.hanesenterprises.com/Blog1/.  Lots of good stuff for me there.

Anyway, I’m going to write 1 article per day for at least 10 (maybe 20) days and direct them to the new sales page.  I’ll let you know what kind of traffic I get and how much converts to sales.  I’ve already submitted 3 articles and I have 2 more almost done.  1 will be Thanksgiving related, that should get lots of hits.

Well, I can’t think straight and it’s past midnight so I’d better hit the sack.

Happy Friday.
